Slugs
Posted by Vicky
Since we planted some hostas in our yard we have been seeing slugs also. Apparently these slugs are attracted to this type of plant. We bought some pellets that are supposed to kill the slugs but have not put it on the yard yet. When the grass is damp the slugs tend to cling to our dog. I am sure they don't really hurt anything except the plants but they are sort of gross looking. I hope to get rid of them soon. Any suggestions out there?
Family Vacation
Posted by Vicky
Over the years my family and I have enjoyed a family vacation or two. It is a wonderful way to create awesome memories. To this day we love sharing stories about the different locations we have traveled too. If you are looking for great food, white-sand beaches and more, then the Karisma Hotels are a site you will want to check into. The Mexican Riviera Maya offers up beautiful secluded beaches. There are several Karisma Hotels to choose from. The new Gourmet-Inclusive hotel is great for the food lovers out there. Their service is excellent and you will find this to be a very relaxing vacation. If you are ready for some down time, check out their website today. Labels: Travel
Car Shopping
Posted by Vicky
I know many people that love shopping for a different vehicle. I don't really enjoy it that much but we are starting to think about a new SUV. Actually it would be new to us but a used vehicle. I want it to have a 3rd seat in the back, 4 wheel drive, lower miles with a V8 engine. I guess I need to say also that we want the price to be fair as well. So far we are finding that Ford and Mercury are two of the possibilities but we will continue our search.

Ping Pong Tables
Posted by Vicky
There are all kinds of way to pass our time. Some find it fun to relax by participating in some type of sport. When we were younger we often had ping pong tables in our basements so that when we had a group of us together we would enjoy a game. I think they are becoming more popular again. It’s a great way to compete and have fun at the same time.

Are you one that enjoys time away? I know that I am. My family and I have always tried to take yearly vacations. We have traveled across the United States and seen many sites. New Recipes
Posted by Vicky
My daughter was telling me about a new recipe she had tried. It was for Chicken Parmesan with marinara sauce. I decided I was going to give it a try. I'm sure glad that I did. It was delicious. It was fairly simple to prepare. I took large skinless boneless chicken breasts. I dipped them in a Bisquick, Parmesan, salt and pepper mixture. I fried them in oil and butter until golden brown. I then placed them in a 9x13 pan lined with foil and a little butter and marinara sauce. I then sprinkled the breasts with Parmesan cheese and a little bit of mozzarella cheese and covered them with the remaining sauce. It was then placed in the oven at 390 degrees for 45 mins. The last 5 mins. I topped the chicken with a little more mozzarella. I served it on spaghetti noodles with garlic sticks. It was so yummy. Even better the next day. :) Labels: Food

You can find the latest toys, baby announcements, baby clothes and more. The list goes on and on. My house it pretty well stocked for children. The girls don't need to bring along much when they come to visit. It makes it easier on them.
Read and Share Toddler Bible Review
Posted by Vicky
I just love adding new books to my library for the Grandkids...especially when they're books and Bibles which have a wonderful message for children to learn. They are so impressionable at this age and to be able to have books like that available is so important! That's why I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review the Read and Share Toddler Bible from Thomas Nelson Publishers!! It's a fantastic book for young children...I'd say at least up until the age of 5, maybe older.
When I first received the book, I opened it up and was quite impressed with illustrations. To me this really brings each story to life. Young children will appreciate the bright colors and the story which is told. I was also impressed with the wording and how well it was to understand. For parents who want to take the Bible stories even further, there are discussion tips and ideas for activities and crafts! There was also a DVD of Bible Stories included. I hadn't expected that, so it was a great surprise!
Overall I thought this was a terrific addition to our children's library and I would recommend it to parents with young children for sure!
