Vacations

Posted by Vicky

I love vacations. If I could, I would be on vacation pretty much all of the time. Even little trips away are enjoyable. This past weekend we were in Wisconsin for a wedding. It was a wonderful time away. We had a great time and weren't in a hurry. That makes it even more enjoyable.I get tired of always being on a schedule.

Refrigerator Filters

Posted by Vicky

Over the years we have owned a variety of brands and types of appliances. They have lasted for many years, but sometimes we find ourselves replacing refrigerator filters and other accessories or parts. We use to count on 15 to 18 years of life in an appliance. Now it seems that life span is much shorter. I don't know if they are just not making them as sturdy as they use too or what the reason. It's good to know that at times it may just take a repair or part and not a whole new appliance.

Life Is Great!!

Posted by Vicky

There are so many exciting things going on around us. Today is a BIG day for all of our children! For our oldest son it is the first day of a brand new job. His position is as Acidemic Advisor/Transfer Relations for a near by University! He's so excited to begin this new position and challenge! Our daughter and her husband have had their home on the market for quite some time now. Today they are counter offering and also have another couple who may be placing an offer as well. We are praying they make the right decisions. And then our youngest son starts grad school today! He has stepped out and decided that this is what he needs to do. We pray that it all goes well and that he enjoys what he is taking. We're so happy for them all!

Buying Gold

Posted by Vicky

The United States Gold Bureau offers silver, gold and other precious metals and coins for you to purchase. They deliver it to you or to a safe storage place of your choosing, which is something I found very impressive. I have not worked with the United States Gold Bureau, but, as I learn more, I definitely think more and more about purchasing gold bullion at some point. As an investment product, gold is available in coin or ingot form. I think gold coins are just beautiful, and they're also very valuable.

If you're in the market to learn more or are ready to purchase gold or silver, I would recommend checking out the United States Gold Bureau to see all that they have to offer.

Blessed!

Posted by Vicky

Yesterday our son-in-law turned 28 years old. He said the other day that he is beginning to feel old...even achey. I had to chuckle...as 28 years old does not sound old to me. I can relate though, I'm sure at that age, I was starting to feel old too. I have to admit that 28 definitely sounds older now. They are getting closer to 30 which is what they all keep talking about. I am sure he'll love being 28 and every year after that. This life God has given us is wonderfully blessed. Thank you Lord!

Our Granddaughter

Posted by Vicky

Our Granddaughter is such a special little girl. She's such a sweetheart and so full of life. I absolutely love when we get to spend time with her and seeing her run to us with open arms. Her hugs and kisses are the best! She's nearing 3 years old already, and has quite the talkitive personality. She's always been a talker and has a lot to say for her age. She is very smart and is already telling her mommy that she wants to go to school. I don't think mommy is quite ready for her to do that...but it will come before we know it. The time goes by too quickly!

Gold Coins

Posted by Vicky

Did you know that you can buy gold bar, silver and even other precious metals through the United States Gold Bureau?! This is something I've been learning more about, and the more I learn...the more interested I become. What's great is that you can actually have your purchase delivered right to you, or to a safe place of storage. It seems so easy! Not only have I learned more about the process, but also about why it's a good idea...especially with Silver. The World demand for silver now exceeds annual production, and has every year since 1990. I look forward to learning more and at some point hopefully purchasing some of these metals for myself.

Summer

Posted by Vicky

Why does the time have to go by so quickly? I feel like the summer just started, and now here we are with September creeping up on us already. It hardly seems possible. The temps are beginning to cool off now, and soon fall and winter will be here. I love the beauty of all the seasons, but summer is definitely my favorite. We are able to spend time enjoying the warm weather and be outside more than any other time of the year. It's great!

Moving

Posted by Vicky

We recently went down and helped our oldest son and his family move out of their apartment. Each time we help move our kids, I am amazed at how quickly things accumulate. I have always said that is one reason why I don't want to move out of our home. It's been 30 years that we've lived here almost, and I know that would be a whole lot of stuff to move. Even moving the kids out of an apartment was a lot of work. I can't imagine a house full! Wow!

Fall is Near

Posted by Vicky

Can you believe that the end of August is upon us? It's really hard to believe! Where do the summers go? I feel like each year, summer goes by faster than the last. I'm love the weather during the summer, and am reminded that Fall (and soon winter) are around the corner as I wake up with temps in the 50s. Brrr! Fall is usually pretty pleasant and such a pretty time of year at least. It's winter I could do without. Hopefully it will be a quick one this year!

Outer Banks Vacation Rentals

Posted by Vicky

One thing I love about taking vacations is that it allows us to spend some quality time as a family, away from all of life’s demands. It’s truly a time to rejuvenate and relax. That’s why, over the years, our family has made it a priority to plan many vacations together. We have been blessed with the opportunity to do just that and have created memories that will last a lifetime!

Although our children are grown and have families of their own…we are still very close and enjoy spending time with one another. It has always been a dream of mine to take my kids, their spouses and our four grandchildren on a vacation, which is why I was excited to learn more about Outer Banks vacation rentals! This sounds like an amazing way to share a week together.

Our grandchildren have never been to such an incredible place as this before. The memories we could create as we would have the pleasure of watching their eyes light up with their first glance of the enormous sea, or to observe as they find their first seashell, would be amazing to say the least. What happiness and delight it could bring.

I was just talking about this with two of our grandchildren the other day and watched as the excitement poured out of them.

Having had the opportunity to learn more about this great destination, it appears that Carolina Designs knows how to do it right! The floor plan of this property is magnificent. There are multiple bedrooms laid out for adults and children allowing me to envision our family already there on a wonderful vacation together. We hope to have that chance, to witness and experience all that this beautiful property has to offer. What great memories we would be able to create!

Stainless Steel Drums

Posted by Vicky

I enjoy watching the show Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. I sat down last night and tuned in once again. It's not only fun to see what recipes these different establishments come up with, but also to observe how their kitchen's are run. You will see huge stainless steel drums, bowls and utensils. Everything is done according to mass quantity of course. I have picked up on some of their cooking ideas. It's always interesting.

Business Card Printing

Posted by Vicky

The first year we were married, we moved away from home and my husband finished college. I was out searching for a job and found one at a company that did business card printing. My job was a slitter. I eyed the stacks of cards before running them through a slitting machine. They say I was pretty good at it. I enjoyed working there because I made some life long friends. It was a very clean place and potential for growth. We soon moved and I went to college.

A Welcomed Sight

Posted by Vicky

I have to say that once we got our new carpet it was a welcomed sight. The carpet in two of the rooms was over 20 years old and needed to be replaced. Bill pulled up all the carpet and pad so it was easier for the installers to do their work. They even hauled the old carpet away for free. I love walking barefoot on the new carpet. It looks great.

Pictures

Posted by Vicky

I love to take pictures. With the digital cameras we have today it is easy to take all the pictures you want and then decide what you will print. It is common for us to take several hundred pictures on a vacation or at a family gathering. Not all of them turn out perfectly but when you take that many pictures you are bound to get some good ones.

New Golf Club

Posted by Vicky

Bill has been looking for a new golf club again. It seems like he buys a new one about every year. I think this time he is searching for a driver. I am sure he doesn't really need one but he wants one. Last time he bought one on ebay and I think that is where he is checking again. Good luck to him I guess. I just ordered some makeup so I have to say it is his turn to make a purchase.
