EASTBOUND AND DOWN
Posted by Vicky
Contributed by Johnny Graves
I hate to admit that I logged onto http://www.expertsatellite.com/ to upgrade our television package so that we could get HBO. Its not just so that we could get HBO, its that we got HBO to watch this show that is terribly offensive, but also funny. I don’t admit to my husband that I like to watch it, but I actually do. The show is called “Eastbound and Down”. I really can’t stand the language and would be really mad if I caught my kids watching it, but some of the things are hilarious. It is about a small town baseball player who made it to the major leagues for a couple of seasons. He gets kicked out of the majors and finds himself back in his same small town, teaching PE. He is constantly trying to break back into the major leagues but is really out of shape and has a bad attitude. He still thinks that he is a celebrity, even though he clearly is not a celebrity. Most of the jokes are terribly crude, but I do like to watch it. I would never admit that to my husband!

Winter Storm Watch
Posted by Vicky
We are under another winter storm watch for tonight and tomorrow. We have had plenty of them this winter but only a couple ever materialized. We are very thankful for that. I saw on the news that south of us where my brother lives, they are under a winter storm watch too and they are predicting 4 to 8 inches of snow. He moved farther south hoping to escape the snow and this year they are getting most of it. It is kind of funny, but not to him, I am sure. This has been the best winter for us. My Mom says she does not remember a winter like this. We have really had so little snow. Had a flurry this morning and it was melted almost right after it fell. That's our kind of snowfall:0) Labels: good winter, snow melting, winter storm watch
Life Insurance
Posted by Vicky
My grandfather always thought one of the most important things he could do for his family was to have plenty of life insurance. I found in checking the Internet that it was quite easy to get a quick online quote and find out if I was getting the best rates. You need to protect your family in case something happens to you but you also do not want to bust your budget paying for life insurance you really can't afford. So it is very important to do your research and find the company that will serve you best. Although life insurance is very important that doesn't mean you have to buy the most expensive insurance out there. Be wise and check out all your options and get the most for your money. Labels: life insurance, online quotes, term or whole life insurance

Amish Furniture Online
Posted by Vicky
In buying a new home and moving after 28 years from the home we raised our children in, we are settling in wonderfully. I have done some furniture shopping which I thoroughly enjoy! I was looking for a new hutch. We checked out some beautiful Amish furnishings. There work is amazing! I didn't know that there were amish furniture online websites. What an easy way to shop! I love online shopping. Have a lot of success doing so.
Gutter Lights
Posted by Vicky
We generally hang gutter lights and there have been years when they have been frozen and very hard to get down. We have learned to take the lights down as soon after Christmas as possible. The weather has to be pretty decent to get the lights down. Wind, snow and freezing temperatures make it difficult.
Gift card sleeves

Times have changed, that's for sure! It use to be that when it was a special occasion, a person usually gave a gift. now a days you see many giving gift cards with gift card sleeves. It is nice when you're not really sure what you might give. That gives the receiver an open invitation to purchase what ever their heart desires. Many like this.

Warming Up
Posted by Vicky
Can you believe that it is nearly the end of January and it feels like spring weather? I love it. I hope it continues to stay nice out. It would be great to have an early spring and a long summer. We have been quite spoiled this winter I know, but I don't mind at all.
Bulging Disc Surgery
Posted by Vicky
Several years ago my mom was dealing with some back problems. She was suffering and very uncomfortable. They thought she was in need of bulging disc surgery. However, they later diagnosed her differently. Then a couple of years ago, my dad began having back issues. They also told him that he may have a bulging disc. He passed away before anything could be done about it. There are many who suffer with back pain these days.
